•  Thinking about effective leisure and how more profound curiosity compounds into experience and lifelong learning. I always thought about leisure as the carefree, almost inept aspect of life -- the cycles used to recharge and not participate in much (i.e., social media, streaming TV, etc.). I've taken an interest in what it means to be intentional with the non-work time to explore, learn, and ... ultimately coalesce with other like-minded, similarly focused people.

  • Reflecting -- I've been in sales (primarily direct) for nearly 14 years(!). How I got into the field, specifically technology sales, was accidental yet opportune. My roommate knew a guy. I was in Colorado and looking to return to Chicago (& get a job). That guy connected me with a sales recruiting leader in Utah who was starting a partner enablement for a larger company. I initially missed the interview because I was visiting my mom in Minnesota, but I stayed in touch and, after a week of interviews, was offered a job. Life has a funny way of conspiring and connecting on our behalf.

  • I've taken for granted how readily available salt is — in our stores, homes, etc. Additionally, I always looked at salt as a flavor enhancer to our foods or to replenish nutrients lost from sweat -- I never spent time looking into the health reasons we now benefit. This short article from The Atlantic was a nice surface view of its place on our table, why salt takes on certain forms, and touches on the need for fortified options.

  • Chloe and Ellie continue their summer league soccer play on Saturdays. They're playing in I9's league before tryouts begin with Florida Premier. We wanted to spend time developing their skills at the nearby park, but the activities this week refrained us. I need to build in more pockets of time for this—they'd appreciate it, and it would grow their skills immensely.
